Corks - Synthetic Supreme Corq Supreme Corqs are a high quality closure that virtually eliminates TCA (2,4,6-trichloroanisole), leakage, evaporation, crumbling and cork dust traditionally associated with tree-bark closures. The Supreme Corq is not an open-ended core. Many competitive corks are extruded, and then cut to length, leaving the core material exposed at top and bottom. This makes them less attractive, harder to pull, and difficult to reinsert. The Supreme Corq is injection molded, enclosing the core material completely, and producing a rounder, smoother cork. In market studies, consumers preferred the Supreme Corq over other synthetics on a variety of characteristics, including ease of corkscrew insertion, quality of extraction, ability to reinsert, aesthetics of the injection molded product, and overall perception of quality. The diameter of the Supreme Corq is slightly smaller than a natural cork to provide ease of insertion while maintaining a tight, perfect seal.
