Accuvin D-Lactic Acid Quick Test - (10) Tests
Product Description
The D-Lactic Acid Quick Test is used to determine Bacterial Contamination in 4 Minutes. It is designed to measure the D-Lactic Acid concentration, an important indicator of excess or unwanted growth of lactic acid bacteria. When winemaking is well controlled, these bacteria play an important role in improving the wine quality, but when growth occurs at the wrong time or the wrong species, wine quality and acceptability are greatly decreased. Regular monitoring can help prevent the development of lactic taint and bitter "mousy" or "ropy" wines. The D-Lactic Acid Kit has a range of 30 - 500 mg/L.
(10) tests per kit.
The D-Lactic Acid Test Kit includes: 10 tests in a black barrier tube with a color chart label, 10 samplers, and illustrated complete how-to-run test instructions. The insert includes a Summary Interpretation explaining how to use the test results. A monitoring chart is included. The label with the color chart is on the front of the kit. Also included are 10 dilution tubes, 10 dilution samplers, and how-to-run-a-dilution instructions.

Why Monitor?
To reliably manage the winemaking process in order to prevent surprises and make adjustements as needed to produce desired wines, both commercial and home winemakers should employ a basic monitoring system.
Each aspect of wine production has to be chemically controlled to reduce spoilage, and to determine how to grade the finished products. These controls start from the grape, through fermentation, aging and bottling.
