Deluxe immersion type chiller; 24' coiled tubing with coils separated by looped copper wire, and a section of flexible tubing on each end; Fits hose tap fittings, diameter is 8.5" x 9" high. .
An all-copper Wort Chiller is vital to cool boiling beer wort to yeast pitching temperature in the shortest possible time. Put an Immersion Wort Chiller in the brew kettle at the end of the boil and run cold water through it. Cooling will be done in about 15 minutes! Sanitation is assured because only the outside of the Chiller touches your beer, and it starts out in boiling liquid. This is an immersion-type wort chiller. The faucet hose easily adapts to any faucet. A must for quickly cooling wort. Hose is accepted by outside thread faucet (like garden hose). Hose color may vary.
If using with kitchen faucet an adapter is required. We recommend our Adapter for standard faucet. Use with Wort Chiller, Fermtech bottle washers and Carboy Washing Wand.
Directions for use:
1. Immerse chiller into boiling wort about 15 minutes before the end of the boil to sterilize it. Do not submerge the plastic hoses! The ends of the chiller may be bent to avoid this.
2. Remove the pot from the heat and place faucet adapter over your sink faucet. Be sure drain hose is in sink before turning on cold water tap. The first gallon or so of water through the chiller will be very hot, but will cool as the wort cools off.
3. Stir the cooling wort with a sterilized spoon occasionally to be sure all wort is getting cooled.
4. When the wort has reached tap water temperature, remove the chiller and rinse with hot water. Let the wort stand for a few minutes to let it settle, then rack into your fermenter, leaving the trub (sediment) behind. Pitch yeast when wort has reached proper fermenting temperature.
