Belgian Chocolate Stout - All Grain Kit

 This kit uses a limited run yeast from White Labs that was found on Peruvian cocoa beans, so why not make a chocolate stout with it?! Belgian Stouts are a sub style combining the yeast character of Belgian Dark Strong Ales with the roasted malt flavor and bitterness levels of the Stout family. This kit includes cocoa husks to mash/steep with the grains for a rich dark chocolate flavor. But if you are a true chocoholic you can add on regional cocoa nibs for more flavor!

This kit only has a liquid yeast option since this specialty strain is only available in liquid culture form.

Style: 16C Tropical Stout

Fermentation Temp: 65-75F

ABV: 6.3%

 

We carry the following cocoa nibs:

Haitian; notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and raisins

Uganda: notes of rich fudge and a hint of raisins.

Philippines: notes of rich fudge, chocolate and malt.

Dominican Republic: notes of cherry, figs and citrus.

Ecuador: notes of walnut, banana, and toffee. These nibs are unique and have a long, deep chocolate flavor with beautiful floral overtones.

 

Your craft brew kit includes grains, hops, and a recipe instruction sheet. Priming sugar, Irish moss, and any accessories are not included.

Kits are available with either Ready to Pitch Liquid Yeast for your ease and convenience or Dry Yeast which you may prefer in the summer months because it ships well.
